City of Kemi
Kemi Swimming Hall, City of Kemi, Finland

The point of connection between the Kemi swimming hall and its new extension was a natural place for an art work. The architectonic and spatial totality is dominated by the immaterial character of the glass and wall structure. The aim of the work has been to combine the external and internal spaces into a single space through the choice of materials and form language. The horizontal and vertical rhythm of the building is linked to the form language of the art work and vice versa. It's as if the warmer material meets the colder one, as if the iron co/our, glass and external space meet the internal space.
