Ylihärmä Municipality (J.S.Siren's place of birth)
J. S. Siren Park, Ylihärmä, Finland

The classical principles of the architecture of J. S. Siren and the fact that he admired Egyptian architecture were the influences behind the form of the monument, but traces of the Ostrobothnian building style can also be seen in it. The monolith is symmetrical and wedge-like. The work has been placed in the immediate vicinity of the soldiers' graveyard designed by Siren, near Y1ihärmä church. The plinth carries the inscription (in Finnish): Johan Sigfrid Siren, Born Ylihärmä 1889, Died Helsinki 1961, Architect of the Parliament House.
